Welcome to Moorestown, NJ - located in Burlington County
Moorestown was officially incorporated as a township in 1922, however it's history goes back into the late 1600's. Originally a Quaker town, the term Moorestown came into effect in the mid 1800's for Thomas Moore. Visit the Historical Society of Moorestown webpage for additional information on Moorestown history.
Moorestown is about 10 miles east of Philadelphia and borders Delran, Cinnaminson, Maple Shade & Mount Laurel. Known for it's strong community, affluent residents & good schools, Moorestown was named the nations #1 place to live in 2005 by Money Magazine. Moorestown is also home to many notable residents including Donovan Mcnabb (Philadelphia Eagles), Robert Sliwowski (Bobby Chez) and many others.
Throughout the year you'll always find some sort of family event in Moorestown. Main Street plays host to various holiday parade's, craft shows and the annual Candlelight Night. Family Fun Day has become a new tradition over at Strawbridge Lake as well.
Education
Moorestown schools traditionally rank very high in Southern New Jersey as one of the best school districts. In 2006, Moorestown High achieved the highest average SAT scores according the New Jersey Department of Education. The school also maintains graduation rates well above the state averages. Moorestown High School was previously awarded the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education.
The Moorestown school district is divided into three elementary schools serving grades K-3. These are:

A few years ago, the Moorestown Upper Elementary School was built for grades 4-6 of off Borton Landing Rd.
